Hey everyone,
I was unsure whether to post this as it isn't entirely true to the look she's wearing in the video for Not Myself Tonight, so it's very much an interpretation.
The look I was inspired by isn't shown that much in the video, I think you only see it about 3 times?
The main differences are probably with the eyes, in the video Christina doesn't have her waterline lined, just her lower lashline which seems to stop 3/4 along her eye - I lined my waterline and winged out the inner corner slightly. I also made the black cut crease a lot more dramatic.
Products Used:
Face:
Maybelline Dream Creamy Foundation
ELF Blush/Bronzing Duo bronzer as contour
Milani Loose Translucent Powder
Eyes:
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil - Milk
Milani white shadow from Domino quad.
Matte Black Shadow from Sleek Storm palette
False Lashes top & bottom from eBay (Seller:Glamlabel)
Lancome Black khol pencil
L'Oreal Super Liner - Carbon Gloss
Lips:
Revlon Colourstay lipliner - Red
MAC - Lady Danger lipstick
The spiky lashes I cut out individually from black paper and curled using a pair of scissors - you know like how you make ribbon curly when you wrap up presents? That's the best way I can describe it haha. I do advise if you try this be very careful, as they're so long they did cause some irritation.
I hope you like it despite all the changes!

ReplyDeleteSo dramatic. I like your look better than hers was. Just way more dramatic and eye catching. And awesome idea with the lashes, I've never seen someone make lashes out of paper before. Gorgeous look!
ReplyDeleteDo you have any tips on how to get great makeup shots? I can never get it to be clear and show the true beauty of the makeup
ReplyDeleteWow thanks everyone!
ReplyDelete@Chloe - yay I'm glad you like it!
@Hello Gorgeous - when I take pictures I put on my ceiling light as well as having a lamp with no lampshade directly in front of me so it's just the light from the bulb - I just use a regular 60 watt bulb - I believe there are ones that mimic natural light? These would probably work better I'd expect as the light bulb can sometimes have a yellow tinge, I'll have to invest in one! I take my photos with flash but put a piece of tissue over the flash so it's diffused and doesn't wash out the makeup but still makes the images look sharp :) I always use the macro setting on my camera too so it helps pick up more detail xx
Absolutely awesomeeeee!!! :) you rock! love your blog hunnie. xx
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tips! I've tried the putting tissue over the flash and it works great for taking pictures of makeup and other things but it still doesn't capture the color on my eyes very well but I think its just the crappy lighting in the room I take most of my pics in but I'm going to invest in one of the natural light bulbs
